Community lunch - “If you knew what I know about the power of giving, you would not let a single meal pass without sharing it in some way.” - Buddha. Community lunch is an everyday initiative taken by the Department of Hotel Management. We provide 350 meals - 5 days a week (Monday to Friday), in the main campus during the lunch break. The community lunch kitchen is operated by students with the help of support staff and faculty of the department. The prefixed cyclic menu is planned with the nutritious aspects in mind, prepared by the students. Community lunch helps the students to inculcate values and learn the techniques of bulk cooking.
HFF - Handful of food is an extension activity by the department on the occasion of 175th birth anniversary of our founder St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara, where we provide nutritious mid-day meals for 250 school children. The Christ fraternity supports this initiative by contributing commodities to the department to be used for the same. The kitchen is fully operated and managed by the students of the Department of Hotel Management.
